JUNIOR KARATE

Junior Karate

7 – 12 Years Old

Valuable Social and Life Lessons

The early years of primary education are some of the most formative years of a child’s development, bringing forth both physical and mental change to the individual. While some children are fully prepared to embrace the changes; for others it can be an extremely daunting and have anxious thoughts to leave their comfort zone to enter a classroom where focus and discipline is necessary.

Karate will also develop reflexes, coordination, martial arts skills and keep children fit and healthy. Training will enhance discipline, self-confidence and anti-bullying techniques.

For students with a competitive spirit, they can hone their techniques in preparation to showcase their talents at local, state and national tournaments.

F.A.Q.

Can parents stay to watch the class?
Absolutely and encouraged.  FYI ... many parents also train.
For courtesy and disruptions, noise needs to be kept at a minimum, hence phones should be set to silent and calls need to be taken outside the training room.
Do you cater for disabled students?
Yes, I commonly train autistic students and NO discrimination is tolerated.
I only ask that you have discussions with myself first so that we can cater for any additional needs.
Can I change classes / days if I want to?

Yes, you can train across all the locations, however the class needs to be applicable for the student's age & level.

Do you offer family discounts?

Whilst we try to keep costs to a minimum, we can offer discounts for multiple family members.

Do I need a weapons license?
Karate - No
Junior Weapons - No
Senior Weapons - Yes, although it is optional.
For a detailed discussion, please contact Sensei Glenn.
How old do I have to be?

Although there are no age restrictions, ideally children from 4+ years (primary school) is a good age to start.

Do you offer personal training?
Yes, in all of the offered programs.
Please discuss in person for times, locations and costs.
What are the class times?

Please see the "Timetable" section on this site

How much does it cost?

The more you train the less it costs!!!

Most people train 2 times a week, hence on our most popular "unlimited package", that is approximately $15 per class.

Do children have to "spar / fight"?

Children are not allowed to spar until they get to yellow belt level and have trained for a minimum of 6 months. We take your safety incredibly seriously and students are required to wear full protective gear including headgear, mouth guards, hand mitts, groin guards and females aged 12 and above will be required to wear chest guards.

Do I need prior experience or a minimum fitness level?
Definitely not.  Please see the descriptions in our individual programs for more details.
