Small Samurais (4-6 Years)

‘Pre Martial Art’ Program

Made just for three to six years! We know that this age group grow and develop every day. They explore their surroundings with curiosity and wonder. It’s an age level characterized by children wanting to try new things for themselves which is why a Martial Arts program that introduces them to early skill based training will be exceedingly beneficial to their growth and development.

By providing three to six years with their own program we can target their growth and development in a way that is exciting and prepares them for success in Karate, school and life. Small Samurais will kick start your child’s further growth and development in a positive, fun games sense atmosphere.

Junior Karate (7-12 Years)

Valuable Social and Life Lessons

The early years of primary education are some of the most formative years of a child’s development, bringing forth both physical and mental change to the individual. While some children are fully prepared to embrace the changes; for others it can be an extremely daunting and have anxious thoughts to leave their comfort zone to enter a classroom where focus and discipline is necessary.

Karate will also develop reflexes, coordination, martial arts skills and keep children fit and healthy. Training will enhance discipline, self-confidence and anti-bullying techniques.

For students with a competitive spirit, they can hone their techniques in preparation to showcase their talents at local, state and national tournaments.

Adult Karate (13+ Years)

Personal Development and Positive Lifestyle Choice

Whether you are a teenager bursting full of energy and adrenaline or have done martial arts before and want to give it another go, or even never exercised a day in your life; no matter your age, level or ability, we will work with you to help achieve your goals.

Teens will enhance their muscular capacity and fitness whilst learning self defence and respect of others. Training will raise their self esteem to deal with overwhelming challenges, such as bullying and peer pressure.  Many parents discover that Karate is the most beneficial activity their child has participated in.

For adults, you are encouraged to work at your own pace through individual goal setting.  Karate provides cardiovascular improvement, stress relief and improves your general health.  It will raise fitness levels, increase metabolism, build muscle tone and develop confidence.

This is the chance to do something positive for yourself, surrounded by others with a similar mindset and “no egos”.

F.A.Q.

Can parents stay to watch the class?
Absolutely and encouraged.  FYI ... many parents also train.
For courtesy and disruptions, noise needs to be kept at a minimum, hence phones should be set to silent and calls need to be taken outside the training room.
Do you cater for disabled students?
Yes, I commonly train autistic students and NO discrimination is tolerated.
I only ask that you have discussions with myself first so that we can cater for any additional needs.
Can I change classes / days if I want to?

Yes, you can train across all the locations, however the class needs to be applicable for the student's age & level.

Do you offer family discounts?

Whilst we try to keep costs to a minimum, we can offer discounts for multiple family members.

Do I need a weapons license?
Karate - No
Junior Weapons - No

Please discuss in person for times, locations and costs.
What are the class times?

Please see the "Timetable" section on this site

How much does it cost?

Most people train 2 times a week, hence on our most popular "unlimited package", that is approximately $15 per class.

Do children have to "spar / fight"?

Children are not allowed to spar until they get to yellow belt level and have trained for a minimum of 6 months. We take your safety incredibly seriously and students are required to wear full protective gear including headgear, mouth guards, hand mitts, groin guards and females aged 12 and above will be required to wear chest guards.

Do I need prior experience or a minimum fitness level?
Definitely not.  Please see the descriptions in our individual programs for more details.
